Made to Measure Vertical Blinds for Bay Windows

Our bay window vertical blinds are made to measure in the UK with 89mm slats and a smooth wand control. A bay has several windows at different angles, so you order one blind for each window and measure each one on its own, then choose the same design for a matching look across the bay. Pick the polyester slat to filter daylight or the PVC-coated slat to block it out.

People ask whether vertical blinds are suitable for bay windows, and they are when each window gets its own blind: every section tilts and stacks independently. Up to ten free samples, posted first class, let you check the colour in the bay.

Measuring and Fitting a Bay Window

Bay windows come in angled and square shapes, and we have a measuring guide for each: see our guide to measuring angled bay windows or our guide to measuring square bay windows. When you order, choose inside the recess or an exact size, and choose the stack side for each blind so the slats gather where you want them.

The tilting slats let you set each window separately, opening one for light and closing another for privacy. Vertical blinds go up to 500cm wide and 350cm long, which suits tall bays, and blinds over 200cm wide are heavy, so a very wide bay front is better split between blinds.

Bay Window Vertical Blind FAQs

Measure each window of the bay separately, using the smallest width and drop. We have a guide to measuring angled bay windows and a guide to measuring square bay windows, with step by step instructions. Measurement protection comes with every order too: if a measurement does turn out wrong, you can have a replacement at a reduced price, depending on the blind.

There are two. Polyester filters light and has a fabric feel. The PVC-coated slat blocks light, wipes clean and is waterproof, with a smoother plastic feel. Choose by how dark you want the room and where the bay is.

Yes. Tilt the slats until nobody can see in, and you keep the daylight. Closed slats give the most privacy, and each window of the bay can be set on its own.

Blackout verticals do, because the PVC coating stops light passing through the fabric, though light can show at the edges. Dim out verticals filter light and do not block it all.

Fit one blind to each window of the bay. The brackets fix to the face of the window or wall, the side of the recess or the top of the recess, and the box includes a safety device and the guide. Follow our vertical blind installation guide; screws are not included.

Yes. You choose the stack side, left, right or split, separately for each blind when you order, so the slats can gather towards the corners or away from them.
