Black Wooden Blinds
Made to Measure Black Wooden Blinds
Our black wooden blinds are made to measure in the UK from real basswood with 50mm slats, finished in a deep black paint. Choose a plain black slat or black slats with matching black tapes, which cover the cord holes for a cleaner finish. Tilt the slats to let light in or close them for privacy.
Free samples let you see how the black looks in your own light before you order. The guarantee lasts 4 years. For a softer dark tone, see our dark wooden blinds.
Making Black Blinds Work in a Room
Black slats give a bold, graphic line and look sharpest against light walls and window frames. In a small or dim room they can feel heavy, so a dark grey or brown may suit better. Because these blinds are real wood, they should stay out of damp rooms such as bathrooms. For a waterproof alternative in a dark tone, see our grey faux wood blinds. Black wood blinds, sometimes called black wooden venetian blinds, are real basswood here, so they stay in dry rooms.
Black Wood Blind FAQs
Do black blinds make a room too dark?
Not because of their colour. With the slats open, light comes in as normal, and you can tilt them to any angle to let in exactly the amount of light you want. Closed, black wooden blinds block most of the light but are not fully blackout, because the slats have small holes for the cords.
How do I measure my windows for wooden venetian blinds?
Black slats show every gap, so measure carefully and choose inside the recess only if the frame is square. Follow our wooden blind measuring guide for the details. Every Blindstyle blind also comes with measurement protection, which gives you a reduced price on a replacement if you measure wrong, depending on the blind.
Should black blinds be lighter or darker than my walls?
Black blinds are darker than almost any wall, so the question is really about contrast. Against light walls they give a strong, modern line, and against dark walls they blend in and feel calm. If your room is small or gets little light, keep the walls light so the black does not close the room in. A free sample is the easiest way to check.
Do black wooden blinds show dust?
Dust shows more on dark slats than on light ones, so a quick regular wipe with a soft cloth or a feather duster keeps black blinds looking sharp. Most of the time that is all they need.
Can I put black wooden blinds in a bathroom?
Our black wooden blinds are real wood, which should be kept out of bathrooms and other damp rooms. If you need a waterproof blind in a dark tone, a dark grey faux wood blind is the safer choice.
