Blackout Bedroom Blinds FAQs

The best blackout blinds is down to preference. Both roller blinds and vertical blinds are made of the same fabric, with the big difference being how they operate. Roller blinds are a big fabric that you can raise or lower to block light. The difference (and advantage) that verticals have here is that they can be fully opened, closed, or anywhere in between, meaning they can better control how much light enters and where it enters.

Blackout blinds are normally better to sleep with than light filtering blinds as they can help completely block out the light. Street lights, late summer nights, early sunrises, etc... will all be completely blocked allowing you to get a deeper sleep for longer.

Blackout blinds are great for blocking out light. Roller blinds and vertical blinds both have a pvc coating which completely blocks light from being able to pass through.

As they have a thick pvc coating to block light, they can also act as another form of insulation. These blinds can trap air between them and the window - similar to window glazing.
