Styling Blue Blinds, and Choosing Standard or Clip-In
A soft blue works in a bedroom, nursery or bathroom and pairs with white, cream and light wood. The crisper blue stands out against white or pale grey walls and suits a kitchen or a conservatory. Blinds do not have to be lighter or darker than the walls: contrast makes the blind a feature, while a close match blends it in.
Whichever shade you choose, the blue is made in two forms. Pick the standard blind for the widest size range, from 61cm by 61cm to 400cm by 400cm, fixed with brackets and worked by a cord and wand. Pick the clip-in Perfect Fit blind for a uPVC window or door: it needs no drill, uses a tab and wand instead of cords, and stops at 137.2cm by 213.4cm, in a white, golden oak or mahogany frame. Are blue venetians easy to keep clean?
Yes. The aluminium slats resist moisture and wipe clean with a damp cloth or baby wipe.
How do I measure for venetian blinds?
Measure the opening once for the width and once for the drop, and keep the smallest of three readings each. See our venetian blind measuring guide for the diagrams. Should blinds be lighter or darker than the walls?
Either works. A blind close to the wall colour blends in, and a contrasting blind becomes a feature. Order free samples and hold them against the wall to decide.
What is the best colour for venetian blinds?
It depends on the room. Neutrals such as white, grey and cream suit most rooms, while blue brings calm to a bedroom or bathroom and a fresher look to a kitchen.
Can I get blue venetian blinds without drilling?
Yes, if the window is uPVC with rubber beading. Both blues are also made as clip-in Perfect Fit blinds, up to 137.2cm wide and 213.4cm high, with no drilling and no cords.
