Made to Measure Dim Out Vertical Blinds

Our dim out vertical blinds are made to measure in the UK from 100% polyester, with 89mm slats that filter and diffuse daylight into a soft glow while giving you privacy. A smooth wand tilts the slats open or closed, and the colours run from whites and creams to greys, browns, blues, greens, purple and red.

They are also sold as light filtering vertical blinds: the fabric softens the light without blocking it. Up to ten free samples, posted first class, let you check the colour in your own light, and a 4 year guarantee covers every blind.

Dim Out or Blackout?

Dim out blinds soften the daylight and keep the room bright, which suits living rooms, kitchens and offices, but they do not block the light. If you want a dark room for sleep, choose a blackout vertical, which has a PVC-coated slat that stops light passing through the fabric; see our blackout vertical blinds.

Polyester has a soft fabric feel and is easy to maintain with a duster or a vacuum, but it is not waterproof, so keep it out of wet rooms. You choose the stack side and the wand side when you order.

Dim Out Vertical Blind FAQs

Dim out means the fabric filters and softens daylight rather than blocking it. You get privacy and a calmer light, but the room does not go dark. For a dark room choose a blackout vertical.

You do not need to. Our blinds are made to measure, so you order the exact width and drop and the blind arrives ready to fit.

Measure the width of the doors and the drop you want, then order that exact size, up to 500cm wide and 350cm long. Choose a split stack to part the blind in the middle, or stack to one side.

A duster, a vacuum or a dry cloth removes most dust and dirt from the polyester slats. We do not recommend washing them.

For a dim out blind measure the width and the drop in three places, and use the smallest of each. Our measuring guide for vertical blinds has the full steps. If you do measure wrong, our measurement protection gives you a reduced price on a replacement, depending on the blind.
