Our extra wide wooden blinds are made to measure in the UK from FSC certified real basswood, with 50mm slats and widths of up to 240cm. Real wood is lighter than faux wood, which matters on a wide blind, and the slats tilt to let light in or close for privacy.

Choosing Wooden Blinds for Wide Windows

A wide window needs a blind that stays level and light to lift, which is why real wood suits it. Measure the width in three places and check it against the 240cm limit. If your window is wider than that, some faux wood designs go up to 260cm, so see our faux wood blinds, though faux wood is heavier and has a simulated grain.

For tall windows, see our extra long wooden blinds, and for other blind types our extra wide blinds. If you are looking for wide real wooden blinds, a single blind here goes up to 240cm.

Extra Wide Wooden Blind FAQs

Yes. A wide blind has a long headrail, so use every bracket supplied and ask someone to help you hang it. The brackets and screws are in the box, and our wooden blind installation guide shows how to use them.

For a wide window, measure the full width in three places and check it against the 240cm limit for real wood. See our measuring guide for wooden blinds for the diagrams. Every Blindstyle blind also comes with measurement protection, which gives you a reduced price on a replacement if you measure wrong, depending on the blind.

Our real wood blinds can be up to 240cm wide, and some faux wood designs go up to 260cm. They start at 40cm wide. Check the size range on the product page for the design you choose.

You do not need to. Our blinds are made to measure, so you order the exact width and drop and the blind arrives ready to fit.

Real wood is the better choice for width, because it is lighter and easier to handle. Choose faux wood only if the window is in a steamy room or wider than 240cm, and expect a heavier blind.
