Basswood Blinds With Matching and Contrast Tapes

Our real wood blinds with tapes are made to measure in the UK from FSC certified basswood, with 50mm slats and ladder tapes that cover the cord holes. The range covers whites and gloss white, greys and silver, creams, browns, walnut and black, with tapes that match the slats or contrast with them, such as brown slats with cream tapes.

Picking a Tape Colour for Real Wood

A matching tape gives a calm, uniform look, while a contrast tape defines each slat, such as silver slats with grey tapes. Tapes cover the cord holes, so a closed blind looks more finished and lets through a little less light, but they cost a little more than untaped blinds and show when the slats are open. Real wood suits dry rooms such as living rooms and bedrooms; for a bathroom or kitchen, choose our faux wood blinds with tapes. Taped Real Wood Blind FAQs

Yes. You screw in the brackets, clip the headrail on and attach the valance. Follow our installation guide for wooden blinds, using the brackets in the box.

Measure the same way as for untaped blinds, because the tapes sit inside the width you order. Our wooden blind measuring guide has the full steps. Every Blindstyle blind also comes with measurement protection, which gives you a reduced price on a replacement if you measure wrong, depending on the blind.

Yes. A simple wipe with a duster or cloth is usually enough. If the tapes pick up tougher dirt, you can use a wet wipe, but avoid excessive moisture.

A little. Taped real wood costs a little more than untaped real wood because of the tapes. Both come with the same 4 year guarantee, so the difference is the finish.

Real wood blinds are made from basswood, are lighter and have a natural feel, but should stay out of damp rooms. Faux wood blinds are made from UPVC, are heavier and waterproof, and suit bathrooms and kitchens. Both have 50mm slats and tapes in matching or contrasting colours.
