Black Blinds in PVC-Coated Fabric and Wood
Our thermal black blinds are made to measure in the UK. The Dark Blind is a roller and a vertical in thick PVC-coated fibreglass that blocks out light and helps trap air, which is why it is called thermal. We publish no insulation or energy figures, so we do not promise a number.
Three black wooden blinds sit alongside: Any Colour You Like, a solid black basswood with black tapes, plus Character in Black and Smooth in Black.
Choosing Black Blackout or Black Wood
The Dark Blind is blackout, waterproof and wipes clean, so it suits bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. The wooden blinds have 50mm slats and a tilt control, and they let light through the slats when closed, so they are not blackout. Real wood is for dry rooms.
Wooden blinds go up to 240cm wide with a minimum drop of 120cm. Free samples show the black beside your walls. Our black wooden blinds page lists every black slat.

Are black thermal blinds blackout?
The Dark Blind roller and vertical are blackout. The black wooden blinds are not, because light shows through the slats and cord holes.
Why are these called thermal blinds?
The Dark Blind uses a thick PVC-coated material that helps trap air. We publish no insulation or energy figures, so we do not promise savings.
Can I use black wooden blinds in a bathroom?
Faux wood is waterproof, but real wood is not. Check which wooden blind you choose before using it in a wet room.
What size can black wooden blinds be?
Real wood goes up to 240cm wide, with a minimum drop of 120cm and a maximum of 300cm. Every Blindstyle blind also comes with measurement protection, which gives you a reduced price on a replacement if you measure wrong, and the price depends on the blind.
