Vertical Blinds for Bedrooms That Need to Go Dark

A bedroom blind has one job to do well, and in our range the PVC-coated slat does it: with the slats closed, light does not pass through the fabric. Our bedroom vertical blinds are made to measure in the UK with 89mm slats and a smooth wand, and the polyester slats give a softer, filtered light for a guest room or a bedroom you want bright.

If you want the blind as dark as it can be, choose exact size and allow more than 5cm of overlap each side, because light shows at the edges first; a blackout blind fitted inside the recess still lets some light in at the sides. Up to ten free samples let you see the colour by your bed.

Big Windows, Balcony Doors and Light Sleepers

Vertical blinds suit what bedrooms often have: wide windows and balcony doors, since a blind can be up to 500cm wide and 350cm long and slides aside to open the door. You choose the stack side, left, right or split, and which side the wand hangs, so the blind gathers away from the bed or the door you use.

A window blind is generally expected to last around 5 to 7 years, though this varies with the blind and the material. Every Blindstyle blind comes with a 4 year guarantee, and dusting or wiping the slats helps them last.

Yes. Vertical blinds go up to 500cm wide and 350cm long, so they cover wide and tall bedroom windows. Blinds over 200cm wide are heavy, so a very wide window is easier with two blinds.

The PVC-coated blackout blinds block the light through the blind when the slats are closed. Light can show at the edges, and a blackout blind fitted inside the recess still lets some light in at the sides, so exact size with extra overlap is darker. Polyester blinds filter light and are not made for a dark room.

Put the stack where the slats can gather clear of the bed, a radiator or the door, and the wand on the side you reach from the bed or the door. You choose both when you order.

In a bedroom, decide first whether the blind will sit inside the recess or cover the frame with extra overlap for a darker room.
