Made to Measure Vertical Blinds for Living Rooms

Our living room vertical blinds are made to measure in the UK with 89mm slats. Rotate the slats to angle daylight away from the television, or close them fully for a film, and slide the whole blind aside for a clear view of the garden. A smooth wand controls both, so there are no cords in a room where children and pets spend their time.

Choose polyester slats to filter light, or PVC-coated slats to block it for a darker room. Up to ten free samples, posted first class, help you match the colour with your sofa and walls.

Light, Glare and Colour in a Living Room

Most living rooms need two things from a window: daylight and a calm screen. Tilting verticals let you aim the light at the ceiling or a side wall, and a pale, reflective colour such as white or cream bounces daylight around the room. Pick the stack side that leaves the patio door or the view clear.

For the same blinds in darker, PVC-coated finishes see our blackout vertical blinds, and for a room with a big window our extra wide vertical blinds.

Living Room Vertical Blind FAQs

Yes. The slats rotate in any direction, so you can keep the daylight while directing it away from a screen, and close them fully for a film night. They also slide fully aside for a clear view.

Rotate the slats until the light is angled away from the screen. You keep the daylight and lose most of the glare, and you can close the slats fully to cut it entirely.

A window blind is generally expected to last around 5 to 7 years, though this varies with the blind and the material, and every Blindstyle blind comes with a 4 year guarantee.

The stacked slats need a little wall space beside the window, so choose the stack side that suits your room before you order. Move the blind by the wand, not by pulling the slats, and the bottom weight chain keeps them hanging together.

Vertical blinds suit living rooms with tall or wide windows or patio doors, because you can tilt the slats for glare and slide the whole blind aside. Choose by how much light you want: polyester filters, PVC-coated blocks.

Our PVC-coated blackout fabric complies with Type B of BS 5867-2:2008.

Measure the window in three places each way, and add the overlap you want if the blind will cover a wide frame. Our measuring guide for vertical blinds has the full steps. Measurement protection comes with every order too: if a measurement does turn out wrong, you can have a replacement at a reduced price, depending on the blind.

Yes. Choose the bracket position that suits the window and the wall. Our vertical blind installation guide takes you through each step; the box holds the brackets and the safety device.
